করোনার দ্বিতীয় ঢেউয়ে প্রাণ হারিয়েছে অনেক রাজনীতিবিদ সহ সাধারণ মানুষ। এবার করোনার কবলে পরে প্রাণ হারালেন মহারাষ্ট্রের কংগ্রেস নেতা তথা রাজ্যসভার সাংসদ রাজীব সতাব। রাজীবের মৃত্যুতে শোকস্তব্ধ পুরো রাজনৈতিক মহল। শোকপ্রকাশ করে ট্যুইটে 'বন্ধু' সম্বোধন দিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। পাশাপাশি গভীর শোকপ্রকাশ করলেন কংগ্রেস সাংসদ রাহুল গান্ধী।
উল্লেখ্য, গত ২২ এপ্রিল করোনা আক্রান্ত হন রাজীব সতাব। তারপরই তাঁকে ভর্তি করা হয় পুণের এক বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে। সেখানে অবস্থার অবনতি হওয়ায় তাঁকে ভেন্টিলেশনে রাখা হয়েছিল। দীর্ঘদিন ভেন্টিলেশনে থাকার পরও শরীরের অবনতি হতে থাকে। অবশেষে রবিবার শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করলেন ৪৬ বছরের নেতা রাজীব সতাব।
এই ঘটনায় শোকপ্রকাশ করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ট্যুইটে লেখেন, "সাংসদ থেকে আমার বন্ধু রাজীব সতাবের মৃত্যুতে আমি দুঃখিত। উনি ছিলেন অত্যন্ত সম্ভাবনাময় এক উঠতি নেতা। ওঁনাৱ পরিবার, বন্ধুবান্ধব ও সমর্থকদের প্রতি সমবেদনা জানাই।"
অন্যদিকে, প্রয়াত নেতার অত্যন্ত ঘনিষ্ট রাহুল গান্ধী শোকপ্রকাশ করে লেখেন, "বন্ধু রাজীব সতাবকে হারিয়ে আমি অত্যন্ত দুঃখিত। উনি ছিলেন অত্যন্ত সম্ভাবনাময় এক নেতা যিনি কংগ্রেসের আদর্শ মেনেই চলতে চেয়েছিলেন। এই প্রয়াণ আমাদের সকলের কাছেই খুব বড় ক্ষতি। আমার ভালবাসা ও সমবেদনা রইল ওঁনার পরিবারের জন্য।"
