পাশাপাশি, রাজনাথ সিং মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে উদ্দেশ্য করে বলেন, দেশ স্বাধীন হবার পর যে উন্নয়নের প্রয়োজন ছিল, সেই উন্নয়ন হয়নি। বাংলায় বেকারত্ব ও দারিদ্র্য ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। বিজেপি সরকার এলে এই সব সমস্যার সমাধান হবে।
প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রী আরও জানিয়েছেন বিজেপি সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলে রাজ্যে কোনরকম বৈষম্য থাকবে না। বর্তমানে রাজ্যের মধ্যে যারা প্রতিরক্ষার নামে হিংসা ছড়াচ্ছে, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহন করবে বিজেপি সরকার। অন্যদিকে, জেপি নাড্ডা বাঁকুড়ার কোতুলপুরে নির্বাচনী প্রচারে এসে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে সরাসরি আক্রমণ করেন। তিনি বাটলা হাউস শুটআউটে পুলিশ ইন্সপেক্টর হত্যায় অভিযুক্ত আরিজ খানের বিষয়ে প্রশ্ন করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে। তিনি বলেন, আদালত বাটলা হাউস শুটআউটে অভিযুক্ত আরিজ খানকে ফাঁসির সাজা শুনিয়েছে। এখন মমতাদিদি কবে রাজনীতি ছাড়বেন? এছাড়া সমস্ত শ্রেণীর হিন্দুদের উন্নয়নের প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন জেপি নাড্ডা।
