ক্রমশ শক্তি কমছে ঘূর্ণিঝড় ইয়াসের। এখন এই ঘূর্ণিঝড় উত্তর ওড়িশা উপকূল থেকে পার হয়ে ঝাড়খণ্ডের দিকে যাচ্ছে। এই ইয়াস গভীর নিম্নচাপে পরিণত হয়েছে। ফলে কলকাতা ও লাগোয়া জেলায় বজ্র বিদ্যুৎ সহ বৃষ্টির পূর্বাভাস রয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতা জুড়ে শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে প্রবল বৃষ্টি।
বৃহস্পতিবার গাঙ্গেয় পশ্চিমবঙ্গের কিছু জেলা যেমন, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, ঝাড়গ্রাম, বাঁকুড়া পুরুলিয়ায় ভারী থেকে অতি ভারী বৃষ্টির সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। সঙ্গে হাওড়া, হুগলি, দুই ২৪পরগনা ও নদিয়াতেও বজ্র বিদুৎ-সহ বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। পাশপাশি কলকাতায় আকাশ মেঘলা থাকবে এবং বৃষ্টিও হবে। তাই মৎস্যজীবীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বিশেষ সতর্কতা জারি করা হয়েছে সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে।
আমফানের মতো সেভাবে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে আছড়ে পড়েনি ইয়াস। পুনির্মার ভরা কোটাল সঙ্গে হওয়ায় বিপর্যয় বাড়িয়েছে। বাংলার উপকূলবর্তী এলাকাগুলিতে ইয়াসের প্রভাব পড়েছে, কিন্তু ব্যাপক ভাবে আছড়ে পড়ছে ওড়িশার বুকে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের দীঘাতে ইয়াসের তাণ্ডবে অনেকটাই ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে। যদিও এই ঝড়ের প্রভাবে মারা গিয়েছেন ১ জন, তা আবার নিজের দোষেই বলে জানিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
