বিদ্যুৎ মন্ত্রী অরূপ বিশ্বাস ইয়াস মোকাবিলার জন্য দফায় দফায় বৈঠক করেছেন। এবিষয়ে অরূপ বাবু বলেন, "পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণ সামগ্রী রয়েছে। আমরা আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে চেষ্টা করছি। আমরা যত দ্রুত সম্ভব বিদ্যুৎ পরিষেবা স্বাভাবিক করার চেষ্টা করব। গতবারের থেকে আমরা শিখেছি। ভয়াবহতার উপর সব নির্ভর করছে। বিশাল ম্যাসিভ কিছু হলে পরশুই হয়ে যাবে সেটা তো হবে না। বিদ্যুৎ দফতর পরিবার মানুষের কাজ করার জন্য তৈরি। হাসপাতালগুলিতে জেনারেটর সেট রাখা হচ্ছে। গ্লাসের ২ শতাংশ খালি না দেখে ৯৮ শতাংশ ভর্তিটা দেখুন সেটা অনেক বেশি গঠনমূলক হবে।"
