রাইজ়িং বেঙ্গল নিউজ় ব্যুরো: ডিআরডিওকে দিয়ে বহরমপুরে ৫০০ বেডের কোভিড হাসপাতাল নির্মাণের জন্য কয়েকদিন আগেই প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে আবেদন জানিয়েছিলেন কংগ্রেস সভাপতি অধীর রঞ্জন চৌধুরী। অধীরবাবু সিবিআই ডিরেক্টর নির্বাচনের দিন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর বাসভবনে গিয়েছিলেন আবেদন জানিয়েছিলেন। এবার তাঁর সেই আবেদন রাখলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। বহরমপুর-কল্যাণীতে কোভিড হাসপাতাল বানাচ্ছে ডিআরডিও।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে বলেন, "৫০০ নয়, ১০০০ বেডের হাসপাতাল তৈরি হবে বহরমপুরে।" এরপরই ডিআরডিও গ্রুপ ক্যাপ্টেনের নেতৃত্বে একটি প্রতিনিধিদল বহরমপুর হাসপাতাল পরিদর্শনে যায়। তখন প্রশাসন জানান, হাজার বেডের কোভিড হাসপাতাল তৈরির মতো জায়গা তাদের নেই তাঁদের কাছে।
প্রশাসন জানান, খুব বেশি হলে আড়াইশ বেড করা যেতে পারে। এই কথা শুনেই ডিআরডিও সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় বহরমপুরে ২৫০ বেড হলে আরও ২৫০ বেড কল্যাণীতে করা হবে। ইতিমধ্যেই এই কাজ শুরু করে দিয়েছে ডিআরডিও। কল্যাণীতে ২৫০ বেডের হাসপাতাল হলে, তাতে নদীয়া লাগোয়া বেলডাঙা-সহ বিস্তীর্ণ এলাকার মানুষ পরিষেবা পাবেন।
