নজরে পড়েছিল ৬৫ বছর বয়সী ওই গ্রামেরই বাসিন্দা পেশায় ব্যবসায়ী এইচ এম বাশার। ওই ছোট মন্দিরের লাগোয়া তার পৈতৃক সম্পত্তি তিন একর জমি। সেখান থেকে খানিকটা জমি তিনি ওই মন্দিরের ট্রাস্টকে দেওয়া সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। তিন দশক ধরে ওই মন্দির বেঙ্গালুরু গ্রামীণের অন্তর্গত হোসাকোটে তালুকের মধ্যে অবস্থিত।
জমায়েত বেশি হলে অপ্রতুল জায়গার কথা ভাবলেও মন্দিরকে পুনর্নির্মাণের কোন সুযোগ ছিল না। কারণ তার পরের জমিগুলিই বাশার। গ্রামের লোক পরিকল্পনা করেও কিছুই করে উঠতে পারেনি। এই অসুবিধের কথা জেনেই বাশা বীরানজানেইয়াস্বামী দেবালয়া সেবা ট্রাস্টক তাঁর অংশের দেড় গুন্টা জমি দিলে ট্রাস্ট এক কোটি টাকা ব্যায়ে মন্দিরটি সম্প্রসারণের কাজ শুরু করে। বাজার বলছে মাদ্রাস হাইওয়ের গায়েই ওই জমির মূল্য নেহাতই কম না।
সেই লোভকে উপেক্ষা করে অন্য ধর্মের জন্য এভাবে মন্দিরের জন্য জমি দিয়ে দেওয়ায় যথেষ্ট প্রচার পেয়েছে বাশার এই মহানুভবতা। তিনি বলেন, "কয়েকদিনের জীবন। তাই তার মধ্যে ঘৃণা ছড়িয় কি লাভ !জীবনের সবকিছুই অনিশ্চয়তা। এরপরেই মন্দির প্রতিষ্ঠার ব্যানারে ফেজ টুপি পড়া বাশার ছবি ভাইরাল হয়ে পড়ে সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায়। বিখ্যাত হয় তার মহানুভবতার গল্প ও।
