রক্তাত্ব অবস্থায় মানুষজন তাঁদের উদ্ধার করে মালদহ মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করান। শহরের রাজ হোটেল মোড়ে এদিন সন্ধ্যায় ওই ঘটনা ঘটে।
ইংরেজ থানার পুলিশ রাত পর্যন্ত ওই ঘটনায় কাউকে গ্রেফতার করতে পারেনি। উল্লেখ্য, এদিন সন্ধ্যায় চিকিৎসক ওয়াসিমূল হক তাঁর স্ত্রীকে নিয়ে আত্মীয়ের বাড়ি যাচ্ছিলেন। সেই সময়ে রাজ হোটেলের কাছে এক দুষ্কৃতী তাঁদের মারধর করে।
স্থানীয় মানুষজন কোনওক্রমে তাঁদের উদ্ধার করেন। ওই ঘটনা ঘটিয়েই দুষ্কৃতীরা গা-ঢাকা দেয়। পুলিশ তাঁদের খুঁজছে। ওই চিকিৎসক নির্দিষ্ট অভিযোগ জানিয়েছেন থানায়। কিন্তু দুষ্কৃতীরা অধরা।
