নোবেলজয়ী দম্পতি অভিজিৎ বিনায়ক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং তাঁর স্ত্রী এস্থার ডুফলোর ছবি শেয়ার করে ভ্যালেন্টাইন'স ডে-র দিন তাঁদের ভালবাসাকে সম্মান জানাল নোবেল কমিটি। শুধু মাত্র অর্থনীতিতেই নয়, সম্পর্কের রসায়নেও যে এই বিশ্ববিখ্যাত জুটি যে নজির সে কথাও নোবেল কমিটির পোস্টে করা ফটোতে ফুটে উঠেছে।
জানা গেছে, ২০১৯ সালের ১০ ডিসেম্বর যখন দু'জনে মিলে 'বাঙালি' বেশে নোবেল প্রাইজের সম্মান নিতে স্টেজে উঠবেন, ঠিক তার আগের মুহূর্তে এই একটি ছবি তুলেছিলেন তুলেছিলেন অভিজিৎ বিনায়ক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং তাঁর স্ত্রী এস্থার ডুফলো।

তাঁদের ওই ছবিটি প্রেমদিবসে শেয়ার করেছেন নোবেল কমিটি। তাঁদের ওই ছবিতে ফুটে উঠেছে একে ওপরের প্রতি ভালবাসা ও প্রেম।
২০১৯ সালের অর্থনৈতিক বিজ্ঞানে নোবেল সম্মান অর্জন করেছেন ভারতীয়-আমেরিকান অর্থনীতিবিদ অভিজিৎ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং তাঁর স্ত্রী এস্থার ডুফলো। বাঙালি সাজে সেজে সুইডেনে নোবেল সম্মান গ্রহণ করেছিলেন তাঁরা।
নোবেল সম্মান গ্রহণ করার দিন একদম বাঙালি সাজেই দেখা গেছিল তাঁদের। নোবেলজয়ী অভিজিৎ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়-এর পরণে ছিল ক্রিম রঙের পাঞ্জাবী এবং সোনালি পাড়ের সাদা কেরলের বিশেষ ধুতি এবং গলাবন্ধ কালো জ্যাকেট। অন্যদিকে নীল শাড়ি, লাল ব্লাউজ এবং লাল টিপে একেবারে বাঙালি বধূর সাজে দেখা গেছিল ফরাসি-আমেরিকান এস্থার ডুফলোকে।
এস্থার ডুফলো, অভিজিৎ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়-এর দ্বিতীয় স্ত্রী। প্রথম স্ত্রীয়ের সঙ্গে বিবাহ-বিচ্ছেদের পর দীর্ঘদিনের গবেষণার সঙ্গী এস্থার ডুফলোকেই জীবনসঙ্গী করেন তিনি। তাঁদের এক সন্তান রয়েছে।
