প্রবাসী ভারতীয়রা ২৬/১১-এর মুম্বই হামলার ১২ তম বার্ষিকীতে পাকিস্তানের বাণিজ্য দূতাবাসের বাইরে বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেন এবং দোষীদের উপযুক্ত শাস্তির দাবি জনাব।
শীত ও বৃষ্টি সত্ত্বেও ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত আমেরিকান নাগরিকরা পাকিস্তানি কনস্যুলেটের বাইরে প্রতিবাদ করার জন্য ব্যানার ও পোস্টার বহন করছিলেন। অন্যান্য দেশের নাগরিকরাও তাদের সমর্থন করেন।
২৬ / ১১-এর ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের বিচার চেয়ে তারা টাইমস স্কয়ারেও বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেন। তাদের হাতে ভারত এবং আমেরিকার পতাকা এবং পোস্টার ছিল।
এই পোস্টারগুলিতে 'পাকিস্তান সন্ত্রাসবাদ বন্ধ করো', 'সন্ত্রাসবাদের বিরুদ্ধে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হোন', 'সন্ত্রাসবাদকে না বলুন' এবং 'আমরা ন্যায়বিচার চাই' এর মতো স্লোগান ছিল।
এই বিক্ষোভে অংশ নেওয়া অনাবাসী ভারতীয়দের মতে পাকিস্তান সীমান্ত সন্ত্রাসবাদকে সমর্থন করে চলেছে এবং তারাই সন্ত্রাসবাদের কেন্দ্র।
তাদের বক্তব্য, বিশ্বজুড়ে সন্ত্রাসবাদ মানবজাতির একটি প্রধান উদ্বেগ। পুরো বিশ্বের ঐক্যবদ্ধ হওয়া উচিত এবং দাবি করা উচিত যে পাকিস্তান তার জমিতে সন্ত্রাসবাদী সংগঠনের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেবে।
মুম্বাই হামলার ১২ বছর পরেও পাকিস্তান ২৬/১১-এর অপরাধীদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেয়নি, যেখানে আমেরিকান, ইজরায়েলি এবং বহু দেশের নাগরিক এই জঙ্গি আক্রমণে নিহত হন।
ওয়াশিংটন ডিসি এবং মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের অন্যান্য শহরগুলিতেও পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে একই রকম প্রতিবাদ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
