রাইজিং বেঙ্গল নিউজ ব্যুরো: সম্প্রতিকালে জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরে রিয়াসি জেলার চেনাব নদীর ওপরে বিশ্বের সবথেকে বড় রেল ব্রিজ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। যা কিনা কাশ্মীর উপত্যকার সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ রাখতে সক্ষম। এই রেল ব্রিজ চেনাব নদীর গর্ভ থেকে ৩৫৯ মিটার উচ্চতায় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। দাবি করা হচ্ছে, এটি প্যারিসের আইফেল টাওয়ারের থেকে উচ্চতায় ৩০ মিটার বেশি লম্বায়।
কেন্দ্রীয় রেলমন্ত্রী পীযূষ গোয়েল এই নির্মাণকার্যকে একটি ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনা বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ার মাধ্যমে। তিনি আরও জানিয়েছেন যে, রেল ব্রিজটি নির্মাণ কাজটি প্রায় শেষ হয়ে এসেছে। এটিকে, বিশ্বের সবথেকে উঁচু রেল ব্রিজ হিসাবে দাবি করা হচ্ছে।

ইঞ্জিনিয়ার সহ বাকি কর্মীরা এই উপত্যকার বিপদসঙ্কুলটাকে উপেক্ষা করে প্রতিদিন এই নির্মাণ কাজে নিজেদেরকে নিয়োজিত রেখেছেন। যাতে করে বিশ্বের সবথেকে উঁচু রেল ব্রিজটি সময়ের মধ্যে শেষ করা সম্ভব হয়। ২৭২ কিলোমিটার রেল লাইন নির্মাণের প্রকল্পটির পিছনে প্রায় ২৮, ০০০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করেছেন উত্তর ভারত রেলওয়ে। প্রথম দফায় উধমপুর থেকে কাতরায় ও তৃতীয় দফায় বানিহাল থেকে বারামুল্লা যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা সাফল্যের সঙ্গে করা হয়েছে। এই মুহূর্তে কাতরা থেকে বানিহাল অবধি সবথেকে কঠিন যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার ওপর পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী কাজ চলছে।
উধমপুর থেকে কাতরা সেকশনটি ২৫ কিলোমিটার, বানিহাল থেকে কাজীগুন্ড সেকশনটি ১৮ কিলোমিটার এবং কাজীগুন্ড থেকে বারামুল্লা সেকশনটি ১১৮ কিলমিটার। শেষ দফার কাজে ১৭৪ কিলোমিটার লম্বা টানেলের ১২৬ কিলোমিটার ইতিমধ্যেই কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। এই প্রকল্পটিকে জাতীয় প্রকল্প হিসাবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছিল ২০০২ সালে। যা কিনা জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরের সঙ্গে সমগ্র ভারতের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা উন্নতমানের করবে। গতবছর নভেম্বর মাসে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি সমগ্র প্রকল্পটি ঘুরে দেখেন ও কাজটি তরান্বিত করার নির্দেশ দেন।
