উল্লেখ্য, এটা এই প্রথমবার নয় যে, এর আগেও ভারতীয় রেলওয়ে ৩০০০ এইচপি লোকোমোটিভ মোজাম্বিকে পাঠিয়েছে। মার্চ মাসে ইতিমধ্যে ভারতীয় রেলওয়ের তরফে দুটো ৩০০০ এইচপি লোকোমোটিভের প্রথম ব্যাচ পাঠিয়েছিল। নিশ্চিতরূপেই উল্লেখ্য যে, “আত্মনির্ভর ভারত” -এর অধীনে এটা বেশ উল্লেখ্যযোগ্য পদক্ষেপ।
রেলওয়ে সূত্রে জানা গেছে যে, এই ৩০০০ লোকোমোটিভ মোদী সরকারের “আত্ম নির্ভর ভারত” -এর অধীনে “বাণারস লোকোমোটিভ ওয়ার্কস” -এর দ্বারা ডিজাইন ও তৈরি করা হয়েছে। মোজাম্বিকের তরফে করা ৬টি লোকোমোটিভ ও ৯০টি স্টেনলেস স্টিল কোচ অর্ডারের মধ্যে করা দুটি লোকোমোটিভের প্রথম ব্যাচ ইতিমধ্যে মার্চে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। তীব্র করোনা সংকটের মাঝেও দ্বিতীয় ব্যাচের অধীনে একটি লোকোমোটিভ এই মাসেই পাঠানো হল। আশা করা হয়েছে যে, এই পদক্ষেপ ইন্দো-আফ্রিকান সম্পর্ককে আরও মজবুত করে তুলবে।
