সোমবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদিকে চিঠি লিখে ঝাড়খন্ডের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হেমন্ত সরেন বিনামূল্যে গণ টিকাকরণের ব্যবস্থা করার জন্য আর্জি জানিয়েছেন। চিঠিতে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান যে, ১৮ থেকে ৪৪ বছর বয়সী মানুষ দের ভ্যাকসিন দিতে খরচ হয়েছে প্রায় ১ হাজার ১১০ কোটি টাকা। আরো কয়েক হাজার টাকা বেরিয়ে যাবে ১২ থেকে ১৮ বছরের ছেলে-মেয়েরা টিকাকরণ করতে গেলে।
রাজ্যের যা অবস্থা এই বিপুল অঙ্কের টাকা সামলানো সম্ভব নয় কারোর পক্ষে। তাই কেন্দ্র যদি সমস্ত রাজ্যবাসীর বিনামূল্যে ভ্যাকসিনেশনের দায়িত্ব নেয়, তাহলে আমরা খুব বাধিত হব। এছাড়া টিকার দরদামের বৈষম্য নিয়েও তিনি মন্তব্য প্রকাশ করেছেন। ঝাড়খন্ডের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এই প্রসঙ্গে বলেন যে, ৪৫ বছরের উর্ধ্বে নাগরিকদের টিকাকরণের যে মূল্য নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে, ১৮ থেকে ৪৪ বছর বয়সী টিকাকরণের থেকে তা অনেক কম।
এ প্রসঙ্গে তিনি প্রশ্ন করেছেন যে, পোলিও অথবা সাধারণ টিকা দেওয়ার সময় যদি কেন্দ্র বিনামূল্যে সরবরাহ করতে পারে তাহলে এই সময় কেন পারবে না? স্বাধীন ভারতে এই প্রথম সমস্ত রাজ্য কে নিজের খরচে ভ্যাকসিন দিতে বাধ্য করলো কেন্দ্র। বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি এবং চ্যালেঞ্জের মধ্যে এমন সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া একেবারেই উচিত হয়নি কেন্দ্রের।
