পাশাপাশি ক্রমশ কমছে সক্রিয় রোগীর সংখ্যা। বর্তমানে দেশজুড়ে সক্রিয় রোগীর সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছে ১৩ লক্ষ ৩ হাজার ৭০২ জন। তবে স্বাস্থ্যমহলের একাংশের মতামত, মৃতের সংখ্যা কমছে না। তাঁদের বক্তব্য হল, যে হারে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা কমছে, সেই হারে মৃতের সংখ্যা কমছে না। দেশজুড়ে মোট মৃতের সংখ্যা দাঁড়াল তিন লক্ষ ৫১ হাজার ৩০৯। মোট আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাঁড়িয়েছিল দু' কোটি ৮৯ লক্ষ ৯৬ হাজার ৪৭৩ জন। এর মধ্যে সুস্থ হয়ে উঠেছেন দু' কোটি ৭৩ লক্ষ ৪১ হাজার ৪৬২ জন।
