ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট মন্তব্যের জের, কমল নাথের বিরুদ্ধে দায়ের মামলা

করোনা মহামারীর দ্বিতীয় ঢেউয়ের জন্য দায়ী ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট, এই মন্তব্যের জেরেই মধ্যপ্রদেশের কংগ্রেস সভাপতি তথা প্রাক্তন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কমল নাথের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। রবিবার কমল নাথের এই মন্তব্যে বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলা আইনের ৫৪ নম্বর ধারা এবং ভারতীয় দন্ড বিধির ১৮৮ ধারা মামলা দায়ের করেছেন মেডিক্যাল শিক্ষা দফতরের মন্ত্রী বিশ্বাস সারাঙ।
রবিবার কমল নাথ করোনার দ্বিতীয় ঢেউয়ের কারণ নিয়ে বিজেপি তথা প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে কটাক্ষ করে বলেন, "শুরুটা হয়েছিল চিনা করোনা দিয়ে, আজ এটা ভারতীয় করোনা ভ্যারিয়েন্ট। আমাদের প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং রাষ্ট্রপতি করোনার 'ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট'কে ভয় পান। আমাদের বিজ্ঞানীরাও নতুন প্রজাতিকে 'ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট' বলে উল্লেখ করছেন। শুধুমাত্র বিজেপি এবং তাঁদের উপদেষ্টারা সেসব মানতে নারাজ।"
কমল নাথের এই মন্তব্যের পাল্টা জবাব দিয়ে বিজেপি নেতা তথা কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী প্রকাশ জাভড়েকর বলেন, "করোনার নয়া ভ্যারিয়েন্টকে 'ভারতীয় স্ট্রেন' নাম দিয়ে দেশকে অসম্মান করেছে কংগ্রেস। বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা বা WHO করোনার কোনও প্রজাতির নামের সঙ্গে কোনও দেশের নাম যুক্ত করছে না। এই আবহে কংগ্রেসের তরফে করোনার নয়া এই প্রজাতিকে ভারতীয় স্ট্রেন নামে ডাকা আদলে দেশের অসম্মান।" তারপরই পুলিশের কাছে লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন মেডিক্যাল শিক্ষা দফতরের মন্ত্রী বিশ্বাস সারাঙ।
